About the Journal
JDA is a peer-reviewed, biannual open-access journal focused on demography and population studies. It is the first of its kind from Mekelle University, Ethiopia, and one of the few in East Africa. JDA aims to bridge demography with various disciplines, including sociology, anthropology, psychology, economics, geography, GIS, public and reproductive health, statistics, mathematics, and related fields. Ethiopia has trained many demographers, but the lack of suitable journals has hindered their publications—JDA seeks to fill this gap. International in scope, it welcomes original research, technical notes, book reviews, and conference abstracts. Peer-reviewed by experts, JDA also supports migration studies and related fields such as public health, climate change, and gender studies.
