Peer Review Policy
Research manuscripts submitted to our online system will undergo a desk review by editors, who will check for originality and alignment with the authors' guidelines. Accordingly, the submitted manuscripts will be read, and a decision will be made whether they fall within the journal's scope and meet its requirements. Selected anonymized manuscripts will be assigned to reviewers through our online system. The journal maintains a double-blind review.
Our journal is a biannual. In light of this, the complete review process will be made within three months, and the revised manuscripts will be published within the other three months. Throughout the process, authors are informed about the updates made.
Decision
Depending on the reviewers' reports, decisions will be made. The decision could be:
- Accept as it is;
- Accept with Minor Revisions
- Accept with major revisions
- Reject outright.
Revisions
Authors will be informed to make changes according to the recommendations of the reviewers within the time limit given by the editor. A form that shows the author’s point-by-point revision will be sent along with the manuscript to be revised. After the resubmission, the revised manuscript will be checked against the recommendations made. For major revisions, the revised manuscript will be sent back to the original reviewer, or it could be sent to another reviewer, depending on the Editor’s decision.
Acceptance for publication
Properly revised manuscripts will be accepted for publication. Accordingly, the editor will notify authors through a letter of acceptance that the manuscript is to be published. Following this, the typesetting process will start. Authors will be asked to proofread and provide their approval.
ITYOPIS – Northeast African Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (INEAJSSH) has the right to reject a manuscript if our policies have been violated.
Resubmission
ITYOPIS – Northeast African Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (INEAJSSH) endeavors to have a fair and bias-free reviewing process. Even so, if there is a serious error or bias from the reviewers, rejected manuscripts may be considered for further review. These can happen if the appeal is evidence-based and the editorial board is convinced.
