እዚ መፅናዕቲ ኣብ ቋንቋ ትግርኛ ዝርከቡ ምስላታት እንስሳት፣ መጠን፣ ትሕዝቶን ባህርታትን ንምንፃርን ንምግላፅን ተኻይዱ። መረዳእታ እቲ ባእታ ቋንቋ፣ ብዕሉም ስልቲ ካብ ዝተሓረዩ መፃሕፍቲ፣ መፅናዕትታትን ኣብ ማሕበራዊ ማዕከን ካብ ዝተጠቅዑ ፅሑፋትን መዓልታዊ ምልልሳትን ተኣኪቡ። እቶም ኣብነታት፣ ፈለማ ብዝውታረ ካብኡ ድማ ብቴማታት ድሕሪ ምምዳብ፣ እንታይ ዓይነት ስነ ልሳናውን መስተራኽባውን ባህርታትን ስልትታት ከም ዘለዉን ብዛዕባ ዘሕልፉዎም ሓፈሻዊ መልእኽትታትን ብዕምቈት ትንተናን ዝተያን ተኻይዱ። ተጠቀምቲ ልሳን ብዛዕባ ዝተፈላለዩ እንስሳት ብዘለዎም ቅርበት፣ ፍልጠት፣ ኣረኣእያን መስተጋብርን ብዙሓት ምስላታት ይጥቀሙ። ብፍላይ ልዕሊ 40% እቶም ምስላታት እንስሳት፣ ኣስማት ኣድጊ፣ ዝብኢ፣ ደርሆ፣ ከልብን ብዕራይን (ሕድሕዶም ካብ 24-55 ምስላታት) ዝርከቡዎም ብምዃኖም፣ ምስ እዚኦም ልዑል መስተጋብር ምህላዉ ምርዳእ ይከኣል። እቶም ምስላታት፣ ተጠቀምቲ ብእንስሳ “ኣምሲሎም”፣ ኣብ ወግዒ ብስውያ ብምስፋጥ ዓሚቝን ነባርን ባህላዊ ፍልጠትን ተመኩሮን ዘስርፁሎም፣ ከምኡ እውን ፀጋታት ካብ ወለዶ ናብ ወለዶ ዘሰጋግሩሎምን ኣካል ሓድጊ ሕብረተ ሰብ እዮም። ብሓፈሻ፣ እምነት፣ ኣተሓሳስባን ፍልስፍና ሓፈሻዊ ህይወትን ተጠቀምቲ እቲ ልሳን ይሕብሩ። እቶም ምስላታት፣ ዝተፈላለዩ መኣዝናትን ገፃትን ህይወት ዝትንክፉን ነባርን ብምዃኖም፣ ብዝተፈላለዩ መዳያትን ርእየታትን ክፅንዑን እቲ ዘፈር ስነ ምስላ ድማ ብሓፈሻ ግቡእን ቅልጡፍን ጠመተ ክረክብን ይግባእ። 

This study aimed at identifying and describing animal proverbs in Tigrinya language. Data was collected from purposefully selected books, studies, social media posts, and daily conversations. The proverbs were first categorized based on the number of animal mentions and other key features. A thorough thematic analysis of the linguistic and communication features, as well as overall messages, was then made. Replicating previous studies, a vast repertoire of proverbs was found based on the familiarity, knowledge, views, and engagement of the language users with the different animals. The fact that more than 40% (from a total of 418) were found to be donkey, hyena, hen, dog, and ox proverbs (each having 35, on average), shows a high engagement with these specific animals. Through the use of figurative language referring to animals in their communications, the speakers utilize the proverbs to instill profound cultural knowledge and experiences, as well as transfer values from generation to generation. As in many others, the instances show the beliefs, perspectives, and overall philosophical views of the lives of the speakers. As the proverbs mirror different life dimensions, they need to be studied considering different perspectives; hence, it is high time that the field of paremiology got appropriate attention.
