About the Journal

Mekelle University Journal of Business and Development (MUJBD) is a bi-annual, open access, peer-reviewed International journal that publishes both theoretical and empirical research papers in the fields of Business and Development issues. The focus of the journal is original completed research that has application to academicians, researchers, business persons and public policy makers within the broad areas of business, economics and development.

Aim of the Journal

The journal aims at promoting the exchange of ideas between science and practice. The General goal of MUJBD is to publish featured research by academics/practitioners, who collaborate across disciplines and with industry and government, to make a difference to academics, policy and the public.

The Journal aims to achieve the following specific objectives;

  1. To serve as a forum of sharing knowledge through publication and dissemination of intellectual works in the field of Business and Economics; 
  2. To enhance teaching-learning, research and community intervention practices of academic staffs and other researchers; and 
  3. To bridge the existing gap between the theory and the practice.

Scope of the Journal

The scope of MUJBD is to publish research articles in the area of Accounting, Management, Economics, Marketing, Cooperatives, SACCO and others that are related to business and development. MUJBD publishes high-quality research papers in the fields of business administration, Industrial Global value Chain, Industrial policy and industrialization, public finance, labor economics, agricultural and environmental economics, econometrics, marketing, corporate finance, financial inclusions, strategic management, and project analysis and management. Although MUJBD is mainly for academic studies, it also welcomes studies that are conducted by practitioners and impendent consultant groups.
